  • Are you an artist or are you interested in art? The Leesburg Center for the Arts is hosting Art Create Friday (formerly called Open Studio) from 10:00 am - 12:00 noon. Join with fellow artists for a combination of a project based "open studio" concept and a "come as you are and create what you want" space. Share tips and techniques and have fun at this free event for members and their guests. Afterwards, stick around for Coffee & Convos in the Gallery from 12:00 noon - 1:30 pm to discuss Altered Dolls (the importance of personal narrative and the integration of new thought through the fun of altered doll making).

  • Consider attending the Bob Ross Style Painting Class at the Artrageous Art Gallery from 1:00 - 4:00 pm. You'll create and complete a beautiful birch tree forest scene using Bob Ross painting techniques taught by a certified instructor. The class is $55 per person including supplies. Reserve your spot in advance by calling the gallery.

  • It's the fourth Friday of the month, so that means that Eustis is having its Classic Car Cruise In from 4:00 - 8:00 pm. You'll enjoy viewing classic and exotic cars on display in downtown Eustis, plus many bars and restaurants will be open. This free event is hosted by the Eustis Business Alliance.

  • The City of Groveland presents Friday Night Done Right from 6:00 - 9:00 pm. This free event is open to all Lake County middle and high school students. They stress no alcohol and no dope and they focus on things teens would prefer to do on a Friday night rather than drink or do drugs. Activities have included a rock climbing wall, laser tag, and bumper ball.

  • The Leesburg Center for the Arts is also featuring a three hour Activity class from 6:00 - 9:00 pm called Silk & Sip with Yvonne Feavearyear where students create a silk painting of their choice on a 10" stretched silk disc while enjoying their favorite libations and snacks. The class includes all materials, stretched silk, brushes, dyes, stencils, patterns, and designs. They say they provide the SILK and you provide the SIP - $40 for members or $45 for non-members. You can register online.

  • Beginning at 7:00 pm, Mount Dora Plaza Live is hosting Dueling Pianos, with two baby grand pianos facing each other. The piano players will put on an all request show: 50's, 60's, 70's, 80's, 90's, or current, country or rock & roll. Doors open at 6:00 pm on the 2nd & 4th Friday of the month for this free show with a cash bar. Sing-along, dance-along, and thump-the-tables!
