Christmas Has Arrived, But the Weekend is Coming!

Merry Christmas to All! Today may be Christmas, but if you're like me, you're starting to plan for the upcoming weekend. Let's take a look at what's happening this weekend in Lake County, Florida.

Friday, December 27, 2019:

  • My niece is an artist that loves Bob Ross, so whenever I see these classes, I have to include them! Today from 1:00 - 4:00 pm at the Artrageous Art Gallery in Leesburg, you can take a Bob Ross Painting Class that is taught by a certified Bob Ross instructor. $55 includes your supplies to paint a beautiful winter scene worthy of being displayed. They say these classes fill up fast, so be sure to reserve your spot.

  • Today is The Gala of the Royal Horses at The Grand Oaks Resort in Weirsdale. The Saturday show is sold out, but tickets (which must be purchased in advance) are still available for the Friday show which begins at 3:00 pm. The VIP package price is $75 per person includes a champagne welcome, ring-side table seating, hors d'oeuvres & dessert, and a meet & greet after the show. Seating is first come first serve and the gates open at 1:30 pm for this rain or shine event (in an outdoor covered arena). Performances will include four royal breeds: the Lipizzan, Andalusian, Friesian, and the Arabian. There is currently a waiting list online for the sold out Saturday show.

Saturday, December 28, 2019:

  • It's Food Truck Saturday & The Outdoor Wine Bar at the Lakeridge Winery in Clermont today from 12:00 - 4:00 pm. Enjoy walking around and checking out options from some of the best local food trucks in the area (scheduled today is Noches Colombianas), plus the outdoor bar will be selling your favorite wines by the glass, beer, soda, juice, and water. The winery will be open from 10:00 am - 5:00 pm for complimentary wine tasting and tours.

  • Eustis is hosting its monthly Classic Car Downtown Cruise-In today from 4-8 pm. Car lovers will get to enjoy viewing classic and exotic cars on the streets of historic downtown Eustis at this free event that takes place on the 4th Saturday of each month. You'll be able to enjoy music, shopping, and dining opportunities along the way.

Sunday, December 29, 2019:

  • Stop by either the Clermont Farmers Market or the Mount Dora Village Market from 9:00 am - 2:00 pm. Clermont is featuring 60+ vendors with fresh produce, seafood, bakery, plants, coffee, pasta, cheeses, breads, crafts, and more. Mount Dora also features produce, eclectic food, seafood, plants, and homemade crafts.

Now through Sunday, January 5, 2020:

  • Get ready to have fun at Eustis on Ice! General admission is $10 per person and includes unlimited skating for the day and skate rental. They have a Sip n' Skate Pass option for $90 that includes 10 skate passes with skate rentals plus 10 drinks. You can use any number of your skate passes each day (meaning you can use them for a large group in one day or spread them out). Hours are usually 3-9 pm on Monday-Thursday, 3-10 pm on Friday, 10 am - 10 pm on Saturday, and 1-7 pm on Sunday. Guests will enjoy skating on real ice! Coin operated small lockers are available for $0.50 while skating.
