Fall has arrived and so has our weekly Wednesday post detailing fun events and things to do on the upcoming weekend here in Lake County, Florida. Here are 12 suggestions of what to do beginning on Thursday, October 3 and ending on Sunday, October 6:
Thursday, October 3, 2019 - Sunday, October 6, 2019:
If you enjoy bike riding, be sure to check out The Mount Dora Bicycle Festival & Gran Fondo, the 45th annual bike festival. Register online to participate to ride in up to 16 scenic routes through three of Central Florida's counties. Registrations are available for single day passes or for multi-days. Rides range from 11 miles up to 100 miles (wow) and they are designed for different levels of riders.
Friday, October 4, 2019:
The holidays are fast approaching... get a jump start by making Fused Glass Jewelry including earrings, pendants, and bracelets at the Artrageous Art Gallery in Leesburg. The class runs from 10:00 am - 1:00 pm and the cost including supplies is $55 per person.
Check out the Food Trucks on the 1st Friday of each month in Clermont. Enjoy music, food, beverages, and shopping from 5:30 - 9:00 pm.
It's Eustis First Friday from 6:00 - 10:00 pm. You'll enjoy food, shopping, and live music at this monthly event in downtown Eustis.
Saturday, October 5, 2019:
The Lake County Folk Music Festival takes place in Eustis from 12:00 - 8:00 pm. This is the 22nd year for this free family event. There will be both indoor venues and an outdoor jam tent where you can enjoy a variety of musical styles including Americana, Traditional, Vintage Folk, and Blues.
If you enjoy the music of The Beach Boys, The Drifters, and Frankie Valli and The Four Seasons, you'll want to see The Atlantic City Boys at Mount Dora Plaza Live at 7:00 pm. Ticket prices have been reduced to $20.00 - $45.00 per person.
Tony Danza will be at the Clermont Performing Arts Center beginning at 7:30 pm. Enjoy music from his four piece band mixed with storytelling. Tickets are $27.50 - $45.00 per person.
Saturday, October 5, 2019 & Sunday, October 6, 2019:
If you love fall, then you'll want to check out Fall in the Field at Renningers in Mount Dora. Admission is free to this rain or shine event that says you'll see an "amazing array of fall finery displayed by some of the best primitive dealers and crafters in the southeast. There will be music, food, and lots to see. Renningers flea & farmers market is open from 8 am - 4 pm both days. The antique center and consignment center will be open from 9 am - 5 pm
The Sunset Fall Classic Water Ski Event takes place beginning at 8:00 am on both days at Jack Travers International Tournament Skiing in Groveland. You'll see skiers competing in overall, slalom, plus trick & jump. There will be a food truck onsite where you can purchase food & drinks, and they promise a very laid back / picnic environment.
This weekend begins Scott's Maze Adventures at Long & Scott Farms in Mount Dora. Enjoy two corn mazes, a 1 acre maze and a 6 acre maze. Each group should have at least one adult member, and the recommended group size is between 4-6 people. Tickets are $12.00 each for children aged 4 and up or adults. Children 3 and under are free. Your admission price includes both corn mazes, additional mazes, plus additional fun things to do. You can add on a hay ride for $4.00 each and kids can add on fishing for $2.00 each. It's held on Saturday between 10:00 am - 5:00 pm and on Sunday from 12:00 - 5:00 pm through December 8.
If you love horses, then chances are you'll love the Hunt Country Horse Show at Grand Oaks Resort in Weirsdale from 9:00 am - 5:00 pm both days. Admission is free and spectators are welcome.
The East Lake County Chamber of Commerce Pumpkin Patch will be on display again this year in Sorrento every day from October 5 - October 31 (weekends from 10 am - 6 pm, weekdays from 12 pm - 8 pm). Admission is free; all proceeds will go to the chamber and other local community causes.
