Are You Ready for Holiday Travel?

Thanksgiving is less than a week away and Christmas is just around the corner. Whether you're a renter, landlord, or owner, we all have to deal with figuring out the best way to get home for the holidays. So are you all ready for holiday travel? I like to plan in advance, but that doesn't always happen. Here are some links if you, like me, still need to make your travel plans for the holidays!

  • Airfare Watchdog - this is one of my personal favorites. You can subscribe to receive their emails weekly listing the lowest fares to the locations that you specify. Book flights and hotels, compare credit cards, and follow their blog posts. Here's an example of what I just found - I put in that I needed a price on air from Orlando to Philadelphia for Thanksgiving weekend (I used the dates Wednesday, 11/27 - Sunday, 12/1) and did some comparison shopping with the sites that popped up (including OneTravel, Expedia, CheapoAir, Kayak, Priceline, Hotwire, and others). I'm shocked at the price - less than $115 per person round trip! I've paid more than that booking months in advance.

  • Airport Parking - you'll find parking options in off-site parking lots and at nearby hotels that don't require a stay. Use the code HELPER5 through 2019 to save $5 on your parking stay.

  • Alamo - click deals to see their specials including last minute, plan ahead, free single upgrade, military discount, one way rentals, Disney car rental locations, and international deals. Become an Alamo Insider to save on every rental.

  • Best Western - reserve at their various brands. Click offers to see their various discounts including AAA, AARP, government, and military.

  • Car Rental 8 - search various companies including Sixt, Thrifty, Advantage, Fox, Dollar, E-Z Rent a Car, Hertz, Ace, and others with no booking fees or hidden costs.

  • Choice Hotels - reserve your stay at their various brands like Comfort Inn, Quality Inn, Clarion, Sleep Inn, Cambria, and others including vacation rentals. Click on deals to find current special offers.

  • Hilton - make reservations at their various brands including Homewood Suites, Embassy Suites, Hampton Inn, Doubletree, and others.

  • RentalCars - search for rental cars from some of the largest brands including Hertz, Avis, Alamo, Budget, Payless, Dollar, Fox, and Enterprise. Most bookings offer free cancellations plus no hidden charges or credit card fees.

  • RV Share - depending on your preferences, maybe you want to drive to family rather than fly. You can rent driveable (class A, B, or C) or towable (fifth wheel, travel trailer, toy hauler, or pop up) RV's.

Happy holidays and stay safe traveling! Please share our post if you found it helpful. Follow along or subscribe to our blog at http://www.leesburg4rent.com/blog - thanks!
